I purchased this gorgeous gown to wear to a black tie gala. As a woman of a “certain age,” I wanted a dress that was fashionable and would be able to fend off the uncomfortably cool temperatures of a very large auditorium. This lovely dress definitely kept the chill at bay, and given the number of compliments and admiring glances, had me appropriately attired in a fashion forward frock.I ordered two of the same dress in two sizes , both larger than I typically wear. I returned one, and had the remaining dress altered. Frankly, I could have worn my normal size, so I suggest you buy your typical size. I am just under 6 ft. tall, and this dress was almost touching the floor. I wore 1.5 inch heels and was able to dance the night away without stepping on the hem. If you are shorter than I, you probably will need to visit a good tailor. I also suggest you purchase a petticoat or a crinoline, as we called this item when I was a kid. IMO, this is needed to make the skirt of the dress stand/fluff out. I bought a beautiful one labeled WOWBRIDAL from Amazon for a very inexpensive price. The dress can absolutely be worn without the petticoat, but the full skirted look is enhanced by the addition of the petticoat.The construction of the dress is very well done. The top has a good bit of stretch and a lot of sparkle. None of the sequins fell off during many twirls around the dance floor. Exercise a little caution and don’t wear jewelry that could snag the skirt or top.If you return the dress (since I bought two, I needed to return one), be prepared for red tape. I contacted Amazon three times to get a correct return address. I wasn’t provided with a prepaid label, but was told by Amazon I would be reimbursed for the shipping fee.Order this dress well in advance of your event. It takes almost a month to receive the garment.Despite the long wait and return mailing hassle, this dress is a terrific addition to your wardrobe. I plan to wear it again next month!

I loved this dress! And it has pockets 😉 I read the reviews and looked at photos from others and decided to size up in the dress. I’m glad I did because it fit perfect (other than the sleeves being a bit long and wide). The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the dress is so long. I think it’s meant to be longer anyway and I’m only 5’4″ so I had to pay more money to have it hemmed than I did for the entire dress. I received many compliments on it all night though! Perfect for Valentine’s Day at my company event. Highly recommend this dress! It might be important for some to note that the dress is made of one piece of silk fabric so there’s nothing extra under that one layer.
